We are now half way through our six-part Female Founders Speaker Series with the Vermont Center for Emerging Technologies. Featuring female entrepreneurs from around the state, the series aims to share what it takes to start a company from the ground up. Every month, from January to June, two speakers representing a featured industry share the story of their business, how to get started, lessons learned, where they hope to go in the future, and more. Each event benefits a non-profit organization doing charitable work in a related field. RETN will be filming all events and posting the videos online. In an effort to help achieve RETN’s goal of public access and education, the videos will be available for all.
The first three events (held once a month on the third Monday), featured entrepreneurs from the fields of wellness, manufacturing and design, and food and beverage.
January’s Wellness Working featured Sarah DeGray of REV Indoor Cycling + Fitness, and Jovial King of Urban Moonshine. February’s events highlighted women in manufacturing and design with Corinne Prevot, founder of Skida, and Sascha Mayer and Christine Dodson, co-founders of Mamava. March’s topic was food & beverage with founders Jen Kimmich from The Alchemist and Allison Hooper from Vermont Creamery. All the founders have provided incredibly valuable insight in how to take a craft or idea and build it into a business. You can watch the past three events online courtesy of RETN here.
The upcoming events for April, May and June will explore topics on technology and communications, energy, and arts and culture respectively. Stay tuned to hotelvt.com and our Facebook page for details on each event.
